Having lived a calm, normal- almost boring suburban life since birth has sheltered Grace Hawkins from the underbelly of the world but that is only until the fateful night that the woman she thought to be her mother breaks it to her that she set to be married on the evening of her eighteenth birthday in order for the family to 'keep their status and maintain their finances'

so she does what every other girl who has read a few hundred books on freedom of choice and arranged marriages - She runs.
