James has never had it easy, being the first born is hard enough , but being a potter makes it even worse. He has always had to protect everyone as he is expected to, as he's the oldest but whenever he tries something will without a doubt go wrong and he is always blamed. James has always tried to be the perfect person for everyone as that's what he is expected of him but it never works out quite right and whenever he tries to please somebody it ends in a shouting match followed by some sort of punishment.

 Everyone thinks James is weak and an idiot just because he likes to pull a prank every once in a while but how wrong they are. He doesn't want his life, he is always underestimated and belittled and it is not fair.

James has always put up a mask and has never let anyone see his true self as he is just meant to be the oldest and the protector, if they did remove the mask he has created for himself they would see a lost boy who doesn't know who he even is, so when James accidentally breaks a time turner and he and his brother joined by a blond Slytherin and a very pissed of Rose travel back to Harry potter's fourth year he sees an opportunity to prove everyone wrong. He is not weak he is not an idiot and now he can finally prove it. 

But along the way old secrets are revealed and everything is not how it seems. There are many things cut out of the history books and facts that would break anyone to their core. James releases his dad is nothing like how people described him and all he was told was a lie to supposedly protect him. Things he thought about his family are not all how it seems and there is a lot darker past than he ever released. I guess Harry Potter was not as strong as everyone made him out to be.

Draco thought that he would have some time to think, but he didn't think he would be given several decades worth. It was just his luck to be caught in the middle of yet another fight between a Dark Lord and his little obsession.
