Mary Jackson was born with a curse. She can't look anyone in the eyes without killing them. After her mother left her, it was always just Mary and her father. But when a curious girl approaches Mary at the bus stop, things start going from bad to worse. Mary goes back home, sobbing while her thoughts turned to her father's disappointment that she couldn't even make it through the first day of freshman year. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending, after all karma always strikes back.
