Throughout the story (on even number chapters), Jake is plagued with flashbacks to his relationship with Y/N, his old friend, and ex girlfriend. If you are triggered by death and suicide, the even number chapters are pretty wholesome, so if you'd like you can just read those, but the whole story ties together. Jake Peralta x Female Reader Also, "Run" & "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK" by Joji are good background music to read this to. The lyrics don't really apply but the tone does :)Complete
