Lansetisch (Lance) is a soon-to-be promoted Darkin soldier, and his place as a growing war hero provides a golden opportunity. All he wants is the President's blessing to create a union with his child. The only problem is that everything is politics to the President, and Lance's family and even his fame are impediments to the President's goal. Lance is determined to show the president he's not a threat, but his female's hatred of her own father might put a damper on his success.
This book is the first within the Darkin universe. It is meant to end on a sad note.
