Nimona returns after her sacrifice for the kingdom and things have changed in those last four months of her absence since the Director's attempt to fire a cannon into the kingdom. They rediscovered their religion they used to practice before Gloreth's legacy came and were starting to regain their believes according to that religion: The Divine Ones.

Only a few strange things started happening. The knights disturbed a vengeful demon's millennial long slumber and horrific things started happening, a mysterious girl who turns out to be a shapeshifter as well and there was a rumor that the Director is still alive and will return! And not only that, demons invade the kingdom.
