Being imprisoned does wonders with one mind. Especially after being imprisoned for a couple of hours alone.... for something quite unrealistic too. No family, no friends, no nothing came over to visit immediately. It seems as if being in prison means being abandoned. Well not with Penelope cause she started to think differently....
