After the suicide of her sister Lorelai, Kat struggles t feel anything other than numb. In an attempt to cheer her up and take her mind off things, Kat's best friend, Juno, sends her a Markiplier video. Kat then spends the night after Lorelai's funeral bingeing Markiplier videos and drinking. In a moment, overcome with emotion and alcohol, she sends Markiplier an email, thanking him for his wholesome and funny content, not thinking he would ever see it. Little does she know, this piece of fan mail will change her life.
