When the struggling writer Betty Finn gets the opportunity of her career, to co-write a book with none other than Veronica Sawyer, she thinks things are finally looking up for her.
That is until she agrees to spend a weekend with Veronica, who had suffered a terrible car crash 7 months prior, and her husband Jason. The more she learns about the couple, their lives, and the accident, the more Betty starts to think that maybe she made a big mistake in accepting the offer.
