Esther Cohen thinks Kira could do better. Getting rid of murderers and rapists is fine by her, but she feels he isn't getting rid of the actual evils in the world. When she finds a Death Note dropped by the shinigami, Zellogi, she decides that she has an obligation to use it to make the world right.

But a terrifying incident at school leads her to use the notebook in a way she never intended and down a path that may lead her directly to Kira.
