According to folklore, obscure forces secretly live among us, shaping the natural world and influencing human affairs. Some call them spirits, others refer to them as guardians, and some even worship them as gods. But to the old and wise, those who understand what lies beyond this world, they are simply called "Anito." If you were to tell this tale to Makisig "Maki" Kagiwa, a 15-year-old high school student, he would dismiss it as nothing more than a silly superstition. Living in a bustling modern city, Maki views old beliefs as outdated stories with no place in reality. But his skepticism will be put to the test when he encounters the paranormal firsthand. What will he do when he realizes that the creatures and monsters from long-forgotten legends truly exist in the modern world? Will he become a believer before it's too late? Or will his doubts cost him dearly when he and his older brother find themselves hunted by otherworldly beings---creatures whose motives remain a deadly mystery? *** Mayari's right eye ignited with a burning scarlet glow, cutting through the night like an ember born of hell. The playfulness vanished, replaced by a predator's hunger. She advanced in a slow, deliberate stride. Every instinct in me screamed to run, but my legs betrayed me, buckling until I crashed hard onto the ground. When she drew close, she leaned down, her clawed finger hooking beneath my chin to lift my face toward hers. Trapped beneath her stare, I felt both powerless and spellbound. That crimson eye pulled me in, dazzling and terrifying, as though its very light sought to strip away the layers of my soul. "What... what are you?" I stammered. Her smile deepened, sharp and amused. "Some call us heroes. Others, demons in human form. To some we bring salvation. To others, we are death incarnate. But in the end, what we are is for you to decide. The real question is... can you trust a monster with your life?" *** Note: This story is written in English.
Death Is My BFFLAD (Book Two Original Series) by katrocks247

(Bfflad- Best friends for life and death) Dear Reader, Let's start at the beginning shall we? I died. Oh no, not one of these stories again where someone angelic and heroic saves the damsel in distress. If only I was that lucky. My heart stopped beating. My lungs stopped working, my soul began to lift away... And then I was saved by a beautiful man with a kind heart and sparkles sprinkled around his head in a golden halo. A cunning, dazzling smile etched his angled features and his hair lay perfectly on his head like...black, sinful layers of pure cynical distrusting evil. Evil that was just waiting to onset a innocent girl as myself and allow her a short amount of time of happiness, and then finish her off when she became older. I'll give you a hint. The beginning of that description was slightly exaggerated. The Angel of Death. One of the only creatures known that was capable of settling the boundaries of heaven on earth. The only creature capable of making one of the Devil's darkest deals to my loving mother; a second chance for her daughter. This comes with consequences of course. Everything you know about Death is wrong. Death is not natural, Death is not normal, Death is not doleful, and Death is far from mercenary. Death blends into the shadows like coal against the most atramentous sky. Death walks the earth with his cursed, monstrous and exotic features, his enticing voice and betraying alluring eyes. Death deceives, scratches, and plays with your mind, until you slowly and painfully loose your grip on reality. He'll make you believe he's a different person, that there's a sliver hope for him. Hope for you. Death is close. "What are you doing babe," Jim's disembodied voice asked her. "I want to talk to you." "You are," his voice said, almost laughing at her. "Yes, but I want to hear you with my ears, not just in my head. I want to see your face again." "Okay. Well, you still have the little scrying mirror coin-thingy, right?" "It's not enough. I want to hold your hand in mine. I want to kiss your lips...I need to feel you again." "I know. You will one day. Soon." Hannah Stolzfus AKA Gabrielle Winston walked between two realms and lost herJim because of it...murdered by the Demon King by way of her unconditional love for her husband. But there were unexplained glitches; ghosts in the machine, he called them. He wanted her professional opinion as a psychic...Were they really ghosts? Knowing that Chris's dream was robotics, she wondered if he could take it a step further into a realm known only to science fiction? What if he could successfully create an android? In every way possible...The perfect lure to attract the greedy Demon King. An original story about a love lost and a love reinvented...Like an amazing dream we sometimes wish to continue once we awaken, perhaps best left up to chance? Or not at all... Hannah is a young woman born of Amish ancestry with a secret. A secret so volatile that her entire family would be ousted or worse and to top it off, the souls of all of humanity hang in the balance. Free will's a bitch.

Ghostbusters meets X-Men in a creepy urban fantasy adventure! "A pocket watch. She bought a pocket watch and it killed her. And I thought how we died was bad." As far as apartments go, roommates Stella and Charlotte "Bronte" believe theirs to be just fine. Sure, they hate taking the stairs up to the third floor, especially after grocery shopping. And yes, the apartment staff could be a bit nicer. But all things considered, it's not a bad place to live. Until the sudden chills begin, seizing them at inexplicable times. Until Bronte starts to see shadows out of the corner of her eye and Stella begins to hear voices too close, sighs too near to be the culprit of paper-thin walls. Century-old ghosts Oliver and Cyril have seen what happens to mortals forced, unknowingly, to spend time in their company. For the unlucky few, their perceptions change, allowing them to perceive the departed. And not everyone, they know, are strong enough to handle living with the dead. Determined to save Stella and Bronte from the fate that befell their last haunting, Oliver and Cyril must find a way to prevent their perceptions from deepening. But when the two ghosts encounter a dark creature unlike any they've seen before, they might have to rethink their plan. The two girls might be the key to saving their afterlives. Not to mention themselves.
