It is interesting how sometimes a single mistake from the past can come back to haunt you in unexpected ways. The weight of guilt is suffocating, making it hard to move on with your life. Flame sinned nearly four years ago, and karma has come for him. If he hadn't pressured his friends to venture with him into a restricted area, which was when he unknowingly released the Scarlet Parasite, they might still be here. Everything seemed fine at first, but the consequences of his actions finally caught up with him. The parasite spread like wildfire, wiping out entire towns each night. The infected turned into monstrous beings, relentlessly hunting down the few survivors. An apocalypse created by the one they call The Mother. Spiritual Energy is running haywire, turning them nearly indestructible. Even the most distinguished people from the Sapphire Clan and the Masked Angels Camelia struggle to take them down. Flame is now faced with the duty to find a way to fix the mess he started while also hiding the treacherous secret from everyone around him.

So when the universe, in it's warped sense of timing, finally thought it appropriate to bring him an angel, his negativity and suspicious nature, almost allowed it to pass him by. This work was originally meant to be a short story inspired by "Cry of a Banshee by Blackbriar". However, it merged into another story arc I was writing, and grew from there.
