283 AC, Battle of the Trident. Rhaegar Targaryen kills Robert Baratheon, crushing the hopes of the rebel forces. Years of bloodshed follow, because the king's taste for revenge knows no boundaries. Houses Baratheon, Stark, Arryn, Tully and Greyjoy are slaughtered, only a few lucky ones outlive the mad king's wrath.
King Aerys dies the following year, and Rhaegar is crowned king. His wife, princess Elia of Dorne, dies in childbirth. Soon afterwards, Rhaegar marries Lyanna Stark, who is held hostage in Red Keep. He claims her son, Jon, as his own and legitimizes him.

Difficult times lie ahead. Creatures of ice awaken from their sleep, threatening the king's peace. The royal family is not as strong as it appears. Lords wronged during the Robert's Rebellion seek revenge.
However, the Targaryens are not the ones to give up. They are going to fight, as they always have. With blood and fire.
Let the game begin.
NOTE: If you haven't read all 5 Song of Ice and Fire books, this fanfiction may contain spoilers! I don't own any of the characters that appear in the original books.
To some, she was just another princess who was kind, generous and had ethereal beauty. To the smallfolk, she was a dream and too good to share blood with the fuckers who rule Westeros and disgraced their lives.
To Aegon, she was the love of his life.
But the truth was Rhaenys Targaryen was the embodiment of the fire of Old Valyria. Gifted by the Old Gods of Valyria, Rhaenys possessed a unique bond with dragons. In fact, by the age of three and ten, she had already bonded with two dragons, a hacthling and others to come.
Some whispered that she couldn't be burned, while others believed she couldn't bear children like any other woman. Some believe she was the embodiment of dragons herself.
But neither Old or New Gods could predict or protect her from becoming one of the most significant players in the Dance of Dragons, the demise of dragons.
