{UNDERGOING RE-WRITE. CURRENLY ON HOLD} [Cover made by @devarsh_yagnik]
"The moon was a white spot in the dark blue sky, its glow revealing everything that hid inside the forest. Crows and sparrows were sitting atop snow-covered branches, not a whistle to be heard. The stars were shimmering, and the snow shone, revealing crickets beetles, and flowers.
A sleeping little form sat next to a dark grey circle of a dead fire.
The sound of creaking wood woke her in a jolt, and she looked around, crazed eyes darting left and right. A huge form-looking more like a fat man-stood, and she saw its eyes narrow, trying to see in the darkness.
The glow of the girl's red eyes revealed her far more quickly than she wanted them to, and the gaze of the silhouette was stuck upon her. Usually a dull, grim red, her eyes shone crimson-the colour of blood-only if she ended up in life-or-death situations.
As she and the silhouette kept staring at each other, one hand of the form grabbed a horn, raised it to its mouth, and blew in it. The circle of sleeping dwarfs woke up and jumped on their feet. They all looked at the-supposed-man, then turned their gazes at her, all as one.
She shrieked closer to the ashes of the fire, her blood-red eyes, filling with tears, were ricocheting in their orbit, staring at each of the dwarfs' steady gazes.
They all glared at her like an animal, looking up and down her twig-thin, bony body.
She bit back tears, and before she could say anything-an explanation, an apology, or a threat, the form raised its hand and snapped its fingers. The dwarfs jolted awake and immediately started moving. Some scampered away into the treeline, searching for firewood, and some were gathering up cooking utensils."
