River is a 13 year old teenager on a terrifying adventure to find and bring his brother home safely.. But will he be safe?? It's not known. Maybe you'll find out in this book.
River's appearance: He is a pale 13 year old that has medium length dark brown hair, dark pink glasses, dark brown eyes, and is chubby. He wears a black buttoned up medium-sleeved shirt, a dark red bowtie, a black belt, jeans, and black sneakers. As of after chapter 5, he wears a pink mask to cover up the GIANT ASS scar on the side of his mouth, as the scars on his arm was left. He wears only one glove since he doesn't want his other glove picking up the blood.

I stared in amazement and horror, and then realized that the person-which, as I looked at him, was a boy-was extending his hand to lift me up. I took it thankfully. When I stood up, the world tipped to the left, and I stumbled. The boy caught me with strong hands. I looked at him and finally was able to look in on his features. The boy was only about 13 or 14. He had a shock of freckles, and a pointy nose, with rosy cheeks, and a mane of curly black hair. He had this quirky smile on his face, and his eyes glinted with mischief. He was dressed in a smithy outfit, complete with a tool belt, which had nothing in it. He also had some sturdy black boots. "You alright?" His voice was kind of squeaky, like he was just getting through puberty, right in the middle of high and low. "I'm fine," I replied, though he raised one of his eyebrows, pretty sure I was lying. I was of course. My favorite band had just turned into a couple of ugly, unearthly mermaids! My hands and legs trembled, and I almost fell over. I managed to stand, and asked, "What were those?" "Sirens. Probably why all the people in this room are asleep!" He grinned, like this was some kind of joke. I was not laughing. "Who are you?" I asked, not really wanting an answer, but it felt good to talk. "Oh! My apologies." He said it with a great bow. "Leo Valdez, engineer extraordinaire, son of Hephaestus."
