In ancient times where women weren't allowed to study and have their own opinions, Pankhuri's father, Anand Das, a teacher in palace, raised his three equally strongly opinionated, independent, and free willed daughters. Pankhuri couldn't ask for more when her father engaged her to Aakash, her childhood best friend whom she loved with all of her heart but at the end; to her utter devastation she ended up marrying Samrat Singh Rajawat, the third prince of Samargarh, who stayed abroad most of his life but the rumours of him being notorious, a rebel and a playboy always made rounds in whole of the kingdom. What she couldn't understand was why the prince suddenly took interest in her and agreed to marry her when there was no connection between them, she belonged to much lower status than him, a commoner? Pankhuri made up her mind to keep her distance from the Prince as she will never be able to love him or give herself truly to the Prince and she was sure the Prince wouldn't spare her two glance either as she wasn't his type, or so she thought.
