Tommy and SBI centric fanfic (my first dsmp sbi fanfic reuploaded. completed on Ao3) After giving up his discs for the sake of L'manburg, they were finally able to claim their independence. Wilbur was proud to instate his younger brother as the vice president. Though recently Tommy had been acting a little stranger than usual, clinging to him and Tubbo more often than usual, collecting random shiny objects that catch his eye, and "borrowing" his and Tubbo's blankets to make a large nest in his room. Wilbur came to realize that his baby brother would be growing his wings sometime soon and would start imprinting as soon as they came out. He had alerted his father who was adventuring with his older brother somewhere far up north, who would make their way down to L'manburg to help Tommy with the process of gaining his new wings and imprinting. Tommy had just recently moved homes. The one he left was one full of memories. Not good ones, but not necessarily bad ones, either. He didn't have much to live for at his old home, so he moved in hope of starting over and meeting new people. He had no more family, and his school friends had long moved on from him. In fact, the only number in his contacts was his mum's who was long passed away. Tommy was young (sixteen, to be exact) and he often forgot things. Usually just as simple as forgetting to do the laundry, or forgetting to reply to a notification on his phone that he received three seconds prior. Simple things that didn't matter. This time, though, he forgot to charge his phone before leaving his new, barely furnished apartment. He didn't think much of it. If it died, it died. No biggie, right? He figured he'd be alright for an hour or so without his phone. That is, until he got lost in the large, unfamiliar town that he definitely didn't even slightly know the layout of. He didn't know where he was or how to get back to his apartment, especially without a GPS. And then, when it definitely couldn't get worse, it began to rain. Tommy was soaked. He was cold, hungry. As a private investigator, Wilbur Soot has had a lot of potential clients walk into his office. Many walk away, as his prices are too high for them to afford. When a young boy walks into his office, he is intrigued. The boy was in a ratty white and red T-shirt and torn up pants, he couldn't be more than six. Reminded Wilbur a little too much of himself when he was younger. The boy places a few coins and some buttons in Wilbur's hand. His older brother had gone missing. Wilbur stared at the boy's sad-looking eyes. How could he say no? It wasn't too long ago when he was in the same situation. Wilbur gives the coins and buttons back to the child, along with a small wad of cash. He agrees to find his brother, letting the kid stay at his office while he begins the hunt, scouring the internet, looking for any signs of the boy's disappearance. The clues lead him to a reclusive casino owner with a "devil-may-care" attitude. But something is off. It's just too neat when all fingers point to him.
