When HYDRA had an escapee from one of their bases, they stopped at nothing to get them back. That was until one cold, snow fallen night in the forests of Siberia, Nick Fury found the escapee, bloodied and bruised, and almost dead. He picked her up and carried her too the infamous Avengers tower. That is just how her story began under the protection of Fury.
