Ellie and I never got along. We were forced side by side many times in our careers at FEDRA military school by our shared best friend Riley. Who simultaneously took in two messed up kids as her chosen family but could never understand our blind hatred for one another.
I can't tell you when it started, probably from birth. We both shared the prospects of orphan backgrounds, anger issues, and loner-agecent tendencies, but we're vastly different in our self expression. Every moment together was a win lose game, sometimes physical but mostly verbal. We'd find ourselves in the middle of the gym on the floor roughing out an argument, and the only person who could separate us was Riley. It was sort of an obsession, a passionate battle. At times confusing and misleading. I'd find myself in class with eyes boring into the side of my head to find Ellie looking at me from across the room. At first her eyes would be soft, then go hard at the instant of eye contact. And I'd find myself doing the same, without knowing why my eyes would wander to the side of her face. I chopped it up to just be my frustration with the girl, but other times, we'd find ourselves paired up together for fun and games, sometimes spin the bottle, sometimes no game at all. Above it all she always made my stomach sick with a burning fire.
A story where two old enemies, find each each other in the harshest of times and are forced to reconcile in order to get the revenge they are looking for.
