From 1999 to 2005, Light reigned over the world as a "God" and a mass murderer known to the world as Kira. Meanwhile, more than halfway across the world, Marie tries to live her life as any other person would, as she deals with loss, fake friends, lies, and the effect that Kira has placed on the world.

In 1999, not only does Light find the Death Note and decides to use it to rid the world of evil, but Marie tries to get by as propaganda rises with the Y2K scare. The propaganda dies down when Kira rises and Marie is convinced her prayers have been answered. However, she doesn't know the monster that Kira will become.All Rights Reserved

This won't be a long one. Maybe 20 or so thousand words. Basically just a one shot tyle things. !!This is an AU, and changes are made!! Chapters are released when written, but I will try to do at least one a week. This takes place in a universe where some spirituality, rules, and other things are changed or reworded to fit a new setting, but the events of the anime are still considered Cannon but covered up by the Japanese police/government but "Kira" still survives as a widely known across East Asia and America as a kind of Urban legend. People are more sceptical of the existence of Kira, but many do believe he existed. The timeline has been changed so that the events occur between November 28th, 2006, and January 28th, 2010. The days likely being shaved off of any filler days between episodes and having certain events not occur, like mass international recognition of Kira or happen within a much shorter period of time. I am a religious Muslim revert and religion nerd.

Light makes her promise that she won't tell anyone he's Kira. That's when things get challenging. Story takes place as electronic journal entries so some chapters will be long and others will be short depending on what Saki will write about. L love story Saki will grow closer to L over the months and years as she attends university, and she will realize how much L means to her and how much she loves him, and she will do anything to protect him.
