Amera, a well-known artist's world turns upside down when she comes from university one day to find her mother packing her bags. She isn't given any warnings, only told that her mother is returning to Pakistan. Her mother had always been estranged from her family due to Amera being born when her mother wasn't married. Now, suddenly, her grandmother whom she has only seen in pictures has had a heart attack and Amera's world is turning upside down.

Kabir, the oldest son of the Sehgal family ( influential business owners) isn't interested in the dramatics of the world around him, he's happy to live in his own little world, working hard and a book in hand to escape reality any time he needs. So, when he finds out that his mother's best friend who's been in the U.S. for the past 20 years is coming back, he doesn't pay much attention, only feeling happiness for his mother. It won't impact him in any way!
