In the ominous night of July 23rd, 1998, destiny took an unforgiving turn for S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team, forever altering their fates. Among them stood the resolute and skilled Halstead Jason William, a beacon of unwavering determination. Little did he know that this night would shatter his expectations, thrusting him into a harrowing investigation entwined with a ghastly series of murders.

As shadows danced ominously, a sinister force unfurled its wicked claws, ensnaring Halstead and his comrades in a malevolent nightmare. Adrift in a sea of chaos, he found himself plunged into a maelstrom where the boundaries of life and death blurred with grotesque mutations and ravenous undead abominations.

In this dire hour, Halstead forged an unlikely alliance, his path intertwining with the valiant Rebecca Chambers, a fellow member of Bravo Team. Together, they clung to the fraying strands of hope, seeking solace in their shared determination to survive the unspeakable horrors that besieged them.

But fate, ever the capricious mistress, presented an unexpected ally in the form of Billy Coen, an enigmatic ex-convict. Bound by the common thread of survival, their fragile truce promised both salvation and trepidation. United against a common enemy, they braved the labyrinthine corridors of despair, their every step a struggle against unyielding terror and the encroaching darkness.

(I decided to Redo Halstead's backstory from what intentionally happened, just minor tweaks and differences)

"As far back as I can remember, I've been surrounded by water. The salt in the air even now makes it hard to breath, forcing me to squint. Sand clings to every inch of me, caking my pants and shoes. The wind from the ocean picks my hair up, sending it blowing back towards the multi-colored houses lining the shore line. *** 'Quinn, don't panic,' Lexi says through gritted teeth. She holds fistfuls of my shirt now, and I hear the rubber soles of her shoes squeaking. 'Too late,' I whine, grabbing the barbed wire in a last desperate effort to regain some balance. The razor sharp blades cut into my palms, making me jump again. Lexi sucks in air and loses her grip on me. I hold my breath and close my eyes, feeling the wind cradle me from all sides as I fall at about twenty-four miles per hour, considering the height of the wall and my weight. Now, I wish I was surrounded by water." South of Compound 4, another compound exists. Within the wall of Compound 5, children are trained and tested for perfection through the Intelligence Exam, a test that every student takes during their sixteenth year. Pass, and you stay within the compound. Fail, and you are sent to another compound. It's common knowledge that they are building a perfect population to remain when the rest of the world falls to the Virus. Yet, what happens when Quinn faces the threat of Compound 5, a short blonde girl whose name he can't pronounce, and begins to question everything he's ever been taught, pushing the limits of the system and his own comfort zone? When a student receives the compound's first ever perfect IE score, a storm makes its way in from the ocean. Can Q unravel the secrets held within the walls, or will he lead his family and friends to a war they can't win against a woman who seems to be triumphing against all odds? Selected is the sequel to Immune, found on my profile. Record Ranking: #25 in Science Fiction

Book 4 in the To Be A Runner series. If you have not read books 1, 2 or 3, I seriously suggest you do before continuing in order to avoid confusion. An expectant mother, a shady government worker, an unexpected visitor, and the search for a cure. Yep, that sounds about right. It's been almost nine months since the world was saved from eternal happiness, but the world is still in danger. The dead still walk and we are still far from finding a cure. But we are still discovering new things. Veronica's hard at work, and with Abel teaming up with the Ministry nothing should be able to stop us. At least, that's what I thought. But there are things we still don't understand, things I'm not sure I want to understand, like the voices in my head, like the zombies that can almost talk and are what Veronica likes to call 'Sentient Type Zombies'. There are things that I'm facing that I'd rather just forget-things I'd rather not know about... But I can't be that way. I can't back down-not from the A.M.T.B., not from the voices in my head, and not from the overwhelming feelings that clog my throat and make it almost impossible to breathe whenever I see- No, feelings are not important now, not when a cure is available, not when he's busy worrying about his baby that's due to arrive and the fact that Paula's getting sicker and... I'm getting off topic. It's time for me to step up once again. My job as a runner is never done. Now it's time for me to step up and be a hero. Disclaimer-I do not own Zombies, Run! Or its characters. I only own the ones I created. This is my Runner Five's version of season four and what I think happened in between missions.

Leaving a raw humidity that was both a reprieve from the heat, but also a constant reminder of it. Some say the rain falls to keep the heat at bay. I think the rain falls today as a tribute to those affected by the virus and all the tears they cried. A small apology from Mother Nature meant to soothe those scorned by the havoc she unleashed. A comfort meant for all those unsuspecting victims of the sickness. -------------------------------------------------- The highest rankings: #19 in infection #40 in disaster #40 in infected #67 in disease #46 in zombieoutbreak
