I roll my dark brown eyes and shake my head from side to side, "One, I'm basic, and two, I don't dress to impress anyone." I declared, placing the empty water jug in its rightful place. "I know," Lillian whispers glancing behind her to the empty hall. She takes a step closer. "That's why I like you. You're not extra." I step around Lillian when I hear the sounds of quick footsteps approaching. "We're in church," I whisper. "I'm a sinner," Lillian says back, resting her hand on my arm. Her touch tickles the hair on my upper limb, "Jesus. I'm not." Lying in church. I turn away from Lillian and roll my eyes once more. God forgive me.

"I stared at her beautiful caramel skin, her glass skin. Even her freckles were smooth and soft. I'm not sure if other people would classify her as beautiful, but her large blueish gray eyes, the ones that held such intelligent and innocence and serenity, that is was impossible for me not to be held prisoner by them. Her cheekbones weren't high and defined, and her nose was a little too small to be considered perfect to other guys. However, her glorious features kept me captivated. Her lips weren't as I imagined them to be. I expected her to come with makeup on, maybe a little lip gloss, but they were coated with lip balm. I could smell it from here, the sweet scent of mango. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't. I had the same thick, dark, curly hair. The same hazel eyes. The same olive skin with a light dusting of freckles (ugh) scattered across the bridge of my nose. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. My whole body was rippling with strength. Like liquid steel.

The number was bright yellow and stayed seated in his right ear direction, looking shining and visible and it didn't go away, even after I rubbed my eyes desperately trying to make it go away. It was a number 4 and it was the first time I had the vision that would accompany me for longer than I would have wished. The next day, the numbers multiplied and now they were everywhere, showing themselves next to different men and I didn't know what to do or what to think of such a strange apparition.
