In the dead of night, one could see the silhouette of two figures embrace each other. They appear to be tenderly in love and content as they gaze into each other's eyes. One of high esteem and wealth, but disgraced from their native home, the other of little fortune but of rising prestige.
"We know we cannot be together, right?" Duke Bakugou exclaimed in all but a whisper
"Why not?" Sir Midoriya asked in quiet regret "They're plenty of high lords who take a male lover?"
... Duke Bakugou turned the smaller man to face him, to hold him in firm as he stared with his piercing red eyes, almost tearing in grief.
"It is not the act of gender or genitalia that forbids our relationship, but it is the act of desire, admiration, and true love for each other that forces others to look down upon us at all." He cupped his hands to Sir Midoyria's face
"No matter what we say, no matter what power we could obtain to sway anybody, it wouldn't matter for the act of true love is nothing but a threshold of mockery to them all."
In the final words spoken from his crude mouth, Sir Midoriya knew that the distance that pertains them alike, that despite the multiple experience at court for them both, one's own background still pertains, as it forces the green-haired man to realize one thing.
That Duke Bakugou would give up his wealth, his riches, and his own power at court, in order to maintain their delicate relationship, but he would never compromise a single shred of his own cultivated image.
Even in the name of love.
