In the near future, Elon Musk's Neuralink aims to connect human minds to computers. "Synthetic Thoughts: From Monkeys to Men" explores the evolution of this revolutionary technology, its triumphs, setbacks, and ethical implications. The narrative begins with Musk's dream of enhancing human abilities through AI, leading to Neuralink's inception. They venture into neuromorphic engineering, modeling the human brain's neural networks in silicon to bridge the digital and organic worlds.

Initial tests in a Biodome showcase monkeys controlling tech through thought, marking significant progress. However, challenges like technical issues, unpredictable results, and animal rights concerns emerge. The media's spotlight on Neuralink sparks debates. Is it the future's beacon or a looming disaster?

As the tech matures, the chip becomes robust, setting the stage for human trials, emphasizing the balance between tech marvels and the human experience. "Synthetic Thoughts" is more than innovation; it's about human progress in the digital era and the ethical quandaries it ignites.

[season 1] In the near-future, mankind succeeds in curing A.I.D.S. However, something much worse fills the void, an aggressive sickness that only affects females. Though only 50% of Earth's population is at risk of contracting M.A.I.D.S., the illness impacts everyone. World War III begins as panic-stricken governments seize healthy females in order to ensure the survival of their people, but even warfare and forced breeding programs can't halt the inevitable: mankind is dying out. An international team of scientists combine existing technologies, theories, and desperation to create Synthia, a synthetic human female capable of M.A.I.D.S.-free existence and, most importantly, reproduction. Biomechanical humans, dubbed Synthias, are mass-produced, and mankind's population begins to slowly increase after being decimated by the illness and war. The cost of salvation is souls. Synthias are denied basic human rights because they are manufactured, not born. After staging an unsuccessful uprising, the facilities where Synthias are mass-produced undergo great changes. Synthia manufactories are re-opened as boutiques where a man's mate can be custom-ordered, right down to the various skills and knowledge the Synthia possesses. A truly male-oriented world emerges around this new technology. Adam, the first son of a Synthia, wants something more than a mere breeding machine. He wants a true partner and something like the "love" he only knows about from pre-war media. The Synthia he creates is something new that threatens to destroy the status quo... Adam's Synthia is not an it. Adam's Synthia is a she. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- M.A.I.D.S. is the winner of two Watty Awards (2011).

❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.

Augments - digital implants and robotic prostheses - can enhance abilities, bestow entirely new ones, or replace parts of the body that have been broken or injured. At least they used to, before they were declared illegal during the Purge. But augments were never meant to replace parts of the human brain. So when her brain got damaged beyond organic repair, she was fixed using other parts of machines. And they ended up saving more of her than just her physical body, as one day, she found herself no longer alone inside the expanse of her own mind. Amy Larsson is many things. A covert augment. An escaped slave. An infamous space pirate. A spy for New Elysium. A terrorist. An overall badass bitch to be reckoned with - rumor has it she can hot-wire anything with just a rubber band and a bobby pin. But what not even the android crew of her ship, the Blackstar, is aware of, is the fact that Amy Larsson is even more than that: she is two people, in one body. And they are planning to commit the most audacious heist of the galaxy. _______________ Featured on Wattpad Beyond Sol's "Sunflower Space Opera" reading list First Place in the The Chaos Awards 4 (Science Fiction) [2018-07-21] Third Place in The Rebel Awards 2018 (Science Fiction) [2018-09-16] Highest Rankings: #2 in SpaceTravel [28.02.2019] #8 in SpaceOpera [28.02.2019] #9 in Cyborg [28.02.2019] #14 in Mind [28.02.2019] #15 in Space [28.02.2019] #42 in FemaleProtagonist [28.02.2019] #54 in Science Fiction [07.05.2018] Spin-off story / prequel to @Red_Leasia 's "New Elysium": https://www.wattpad.com/story/106699395-new-elysium We're co-writing the sequel "New Elysium 2 - Weapons of War" on our shared profile @New_Elysium
