As the story takes place in the span of four months before the beginning of the actual story when we get introduced to Kabane. From Ryoko losing everything to her opening up to the group from the Kemono Office, to her starting to grow a romantic attraction to Shiki. The last words from her mother were "Don't look back, just get to the Kemono Office and get help from Inugami..."
