"Are you crying? I'm sorry. I'll buy you another coffee if you like. Hell, I'll buy you a hundred if it means you'll stop crying." He pleaded, pausing again to grasp my small hands in his. I felt my entire body warm up, a thousand times hotter than my burn, at the touch of his contact. Tingles ran up my spine and I blushed, praying he wouldn't notice my obvious response at his touch.

"Please wake up." I said as I held his hand. I looked for any sign of response; a movement beneath an eyelid, a twitch of a finger. Nothing. He was just... blank. I felt the tears come. I played with his hand in mine; traced invisible messages in his palm with my finger, hoping just maybe he'd magically be able to get them. Tears started falling down my cheeks. I held his hand gently against my lips. Tears dropped on his fingers until they were as wet as my eyes. I rested my head on his limp hand. "I told you I needed you to stay."
