The woman in the cloak

The dark, stormy clouds thundered above her head. She held the baby in her hands and kissed it for the last time. "I love you" the mysterious lady whispered. Then she carefully wrapped the baby in a stained, old cloth and laid it on the doorstep. She rang the doorbell and turned regretfully away from the life she could have had. Would she ever come back? She wondered. Maybe, but the chances were slim. Then she ran away, her red cloak swishing in the wind,just a silhouette on the starry night sky.
