Soul Shard

Born with abilities beyond his own comprehension, Anillux Xukzon is a boy from a small city. Despite being around humans all his life, he knew something was off. He wasn't like the other kids, and neither was his mother. However, when a group of mages attack his city, his mother's soul is fused with that of her hellhound, trapped within a gem. After fleeing, leaving behind the others of his family, he meets many new friends of different magical origins. Now, in order to save his mother, and potentially even those closest to him, he must find his lost sister, and put a stop to the advances of the mages.

Author Notes:
Thinking about having this legitimately published when finished, but my main concern is how the US is going rn with banning any books containing LGBTQ+ characters, which 'Lux, Shinde, Synthesia, Aria, and a decent amount of other characters also fit into.
Also, all of this is written on Google Docs before being transferred over, so just the first chapter alone is, like, just barely over 7 pages on there. Word counts are provided at the bottom of each chapter, but will only include the amount of words in the actual chapter itself, not that little add-on at the end.
Also, the current cover is only temporary; I couldn't find a good font for the title, nor did I have the motivation to draw the specific flowers at the moment.
