Marina Lewis just wanted to live out her life in a small, but wealthy, town on the coast of England. She hopes to marry a wealthy man and make her father proud, but all of this is interrupted by a young pirate named Alistair, who was sent to retrieve (or kidnap, call it what you want) Marina. She soon finds that her family line wasn't what she thought, and it seems no one is trust worthy in her life-not even her own family.
Her list of the people she trusted dwindles quickly, and she is enveloped in a web of lies. She doesn't know who turn to. Half of the people she knows are the ones she trying to get away from, and the the other half want her arrested, or hung for treason. The one person who seems to be honest with her is Alistair, but she doesn't think she can trust him.
Who can she trust? Where will she be safe? Will there be an end to lies being fed to her?
She'll have to figure it all out for herself.
