There were many ways that Peter thought he'd die since he first put on that mask, all those years ago.
From his very first hoodie and goggles he had hand made for Spider-Man, to the one Tony had made for him.
He always thought he'd die as Spider-Man, with his mask on as he bled out from some lucky asshole who took their shot.
But it was so much worse...
Forced to watch as his body slowly withered away and died right before his eyes. Day after day, his energy being sucked away from him by something he couldn't fix.
He was living on borrowed time and he knew that, but the worse part of it all wasn't actually the dying part.
It was the loneliness, the fact that his partner wasn't right there beside him that hurt the most.
What he'd do, for just one more moment with Yelena...

Peter had lost all hope, until he had heard the call...
