An apocalypse has randomly come to Faxton, an island with a population of 3,678 people and the only way to escape is on water. At the high school, all students are put into groups of sixteen to be put on a boat on their own, trying to survive, not knowing where to go. Juliana is one of these students and is put into a group with people she knows well. She doesn't know if all of her friends will survive, or if she will survive but she wants to think this as an adventure.
