Delilah Engstrom is the daughter of Aphrodite, and her favorite one at that. Delilah knows this, because she is her only daughter who lives on Olympus. Aphrodite never saved any of her other children from the monsters after their mortal parents died, only Delilah. Delilah knows that her mother's love for her is special, so special that even the other gods can't hurt her. Or, at least, that's what she always thought. Now a jealous Persephone is sending Delilah to Camp Half-Blood, the demigod training camp run by Chiron and Dionysus. Vicky Hansen and Ian Mille take her there. Nevaeh Walker pushes her into a lake, while Jonah Olsen watches. They all get beat in capture the flag, sending them to the camp's infirmary where Will Solace tends to their wounds. Delilah hates camp, and she hates these five other demigods. But soon, she learns that life with Aphrodite as never as it seemed. Together, the demigods uncover the secrets surrounding Delilah's mother, the rest of the gods' involvement in Persephone's plot, and the all of the pasts of these six very different people. Many forget that the goddess of love was born from the raging sea, but she would do anything to protect her daughter. Adora was Aphrodite's last daughter. Her mother kept her hidden. But, her mother isn't the only one who can keep a secret, especially in a world where your role in society is everything. For there was a prophecy long before she was born: 'Aphrodite's last child would be the one to take the throne, Her paternity unknown. They would carve her face and never forget, for she would be the most beautiful that they had met Cursed for the same fate as her mother Forced to leave her love for another The only way she shall break this curse is if she defeats the first' "Looks like the princess doesn't need saving after all." He says, quietly enough that no one else would hear, as he draws his hand away from my arm. I glare back at him. "Maybe she never did," I walk away, not sparing a single glance back, no matter how much my body was begging me to. I fuss over my hair, pouting as I run my fingers through it to put it back into place. *A warning note* I am not an expert on Greek Mythology, but it interests me greatly. Please excuse any inaccuracies in the book, but if there are any please do message or comment it and I will see if I can change it without making such a huge difference to the plot. Also, my main character is autistic and the experience will be different for everyone. I have tried my hardest to put down on paper how I feel and how I believe others see me. So, please be respectful about the decisions my characters make as I have chosen to give them many different types of neurodivergent brains. I have tried my best to represent these in the most accurate light whilst not romanticising them.
