A world where merfolk are intelligent creatures is a world where the oceans are cleaner. These merfolk, separated by their subspecies, live beside humanity as conscious beings. It is inevitable that the two groups will spawn a thousand year hatred, and under the sea, the merfolk are beginning to pray to their ancestors that these killings will subside. A stray siren named Loch finds himself stuck in between the two worlds of human history and merfolk joy, and he will be forced to choose which part of life consumes him the most. But when a prophecy calls for him to be hunted for his future crimes, Loch is casted out of his new home.

SHARDS of GEMSTONES is a free of purchase prequel to the FINS ABOVE series. It follows Loch, a conger eel, and his own goal of climbing the ranks to be the Coral Shoal kingpin, but when a seer announces that he would commit atrocities in his leadership, he is chased from his position and led down a path of backtracking, paranoia, and murder.
