Orion Stierwalt, meanwhile, runs his own league, and has recently fallen on hard times. Revenue is hard to find and some of his cohorts have turned themselves in. Suspicion runs rampant, and his group is split between those who believe in keeping an isolated approach and then those who want to seek help from other leagues and hope to try new methods.
However, Orion and Douglas have more in common than their groups realize. In an underground society where interaction with other leagues is discouraged, Orion and Douglas are in dangerous territory when they start dating each other.
Unfortunately, the police aren't the only thing Douglas and Orion are worried about. A certain shadowy force is beginning to take its toll on the city, lining wrists with slashes, railings with those considering mortality, and hospitals with those whose attempts ended in bittersweet failure.
There's a dangerous game taking over not only the city, but also its underground hacking groups. The question now becomes: Will Douglas and Orion test their luck?
