Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger lead completely opposite lives, born to be enemies. A series of events somehow ignites Draco's feelings for her, and he tries to distract himself by researching the history of Hogwarts. He realizes that Hogwarts has never had a Slytherin picked as a Triwizard champion, and leads the Slytherins in creating their own tournament. Unfortunate complications lead to Hermione wanting to compete, and saying no would go against everything Draco stands for.
