In 10th grade English i was handed a photo of a little girl and a puppy (the cover photo) and i was told to create whatever story i wanted to as long as the inspiration came from the picture. i won 2nd place in the competition. The story came from my mental state with my father. since a kid I've felt abandoned by him. like there was nowhere to go and no one to turn to. i felt as if i was dying.All Rights Reserved

"Unfortunately, I wish it was just a made-up story, something that belonged in the realm of fiction. But it isn't. I'm guessing it started happily at first. Just a naive 10-year-old enjoying what life threw at her. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But I didn't. I longed for more.
