In the wake of a tragic accident that claimed the lives of her parents when she was just a young teenager, Rose Roberts found herself thrust into a harsh reality that shattered the blissful cocoon of her once carefree existence. Her world, once painted in hues of joy, suddenly turned grayscale, burdened with the weight of unanticipated responsibilities that fractured her heart.

In the aftermath of her father's untimely demise, Rose, who once reveled in the belief that she was the happiest person alive, now grapples with the stark contrast of her altered circumstances. The vivid memories of her parents' unwavering efforts to create a heavenly life for her now haunt her days and nights, casting a melancholic shadow over her every waking moment.

Despite the overwhelming grief and the splintering of her heart, Rose resolves not to shed tears. The deep connection she shared with her parents, now lost, has flipped her world upside down. Determined to conceal her internal struggles from the prying eyes of the world, she adopts a facade of strength while silently battling the turmoil within.

Living with a fragmented identity, Rose soon comes to the realization that this coping mechanism is unsustainable. In a transformative journey, she resolves to showcase the significance of family, using the memory of her parents as a powerful motivator. With an unwavering determination to honor their legacy, Rose embarks on a mission to redefine her existence and demonstrate the enduring strength that familial bonds can provide.

As she navigates the complexities of her grief, Rose is driven by an unrelenting desire to prove that love transcends even the deepest losses. The question that lingers in the air is whether she will succeed in her quest to illuminate the importance of family, or if the shadows of her past will continue to cast a long and unyielding pall over her future.

***this book contains suicidal thoughts and tendencies, may not be appropriate for younger audiences*** In which she looks for the purpose of life. Lily Carter's parents died in a car crash leaving her and Laura, girl was depressed long before her parents passed away and with all the problems turning up now, Lily felt more miserable - if that's even possible. With her journey to look for life's purpose and grab the small pinch of HOPE - which is ironically her second name -, will she finally snap at the pressure and finally end it all? or will a small light lit her darkened world of grief and loneliness? * "So you know. The little goth girl who gets bullied is indeed a mess. There's this mess in her head that eats her alive everyday isn't it? What to do now Kaden? Tell the whole neighborhood and recieve an award for taking out a crazy in this world?" I spit like vomit. His eyes warmed up as I finished, "Lily. It isn't like that" "What is it then? People stopped caring... they gave up, why aren't you?" I fought my tears. "Because I feel the need to care. Did Leigh hurt you? Did she hit you?" he finally noticed the unusual redness of my cheek. I don't like the way he told me he needed to care for me. I felt like an obligation, a responsibility that he is carrying and carrying leads to getting tired and when people gets tired, they give up. I don't want them to give up on me. But they will, so it's good not to make them care for me in the first place. "I never needed anyone. I stopped needing anyone before, why start now?" I uttered the words again. Why? There is nothing to fight for. No mama. No papa. No sister to love me. No one. So why would I waste my life and the time of others to fix what is already broken - and someone who doesn't want to be fixed? If I may add. Maybe I gave up. No, scratch that. I gave up a long time ago - when my parents died, my hope and purpose went away with them.

Hope Young is a 23 year old, living in LA. She's a selfish, self absorbed and cold-hearted person. She loves having the money, the clothes and the big house. At least that's what she tries to make everyone think, though the truth is, it's all just an act to stop anyone from getting close. But the question is; will she ever take that mask off and be the warm-hearted person she really is? What happens when someone comes knocking on Hope's door; disguised as an innocent school girl, only for Hope to do what she always does and treats her just like every other person and slams the door in her face. Except what Hope didn't know is that this 'girl' isn't just any ordinary girl, in fact, she is a powerful witch and her name is Karma and she loves to find people like Hope to teach them a lesson; in hope to either change them or break them. Hope didn't realise that the moment she slammed that door shut on Karma, was the moment her entire world would forever change as she gets pulled into the supernatural world that she never knew existed. Once the witch curses Hope, she gives her 90 days to prove that she can be selfless, compassionate, fearless, loving, open, honest and most of all, forgiving and accepting, but in doing so, she will have to face all that she's been running from for the last 6 years, which means that she'll have to face what changed her into the closed off person that she became in the first place and with each bad thing that she does from day one will have a karmic consequence. If she succeeds and becomes who she is destined to be by the final day, then the curse will break, but if she fails, she will die and the witch will entrap her soul for all eternity. Will Hope survive Karma's curse and will she be able to cope with what she faces along the way, including the shocking truth about herself and those around her? "I call this one pain. And this lil one right here under his wing is suffering." "No offense, but...who the hell would wanna be reminded of pain and Suffering? If I was going to get something etched into my skin forever, I'd want something that would bring me joy." His grin bemused her. As if he expected her to contradict his moral logic. "True that, shorty. And I agree, no doubt. But who's to say my birds don't bring me joy?" Dumbfounded, Jett lifted her eyes from the silhouetted birds up to meet his tender gaze, stumped on how to answer his question. She shrugged with one arm, "Do they?" * * * Jett Jaletta has enough of her own problems. Unreliable family members that depend on her for everything, too many bills with not enough income. And a federal probation sentence that's held her hostage for the past three years. The last thing she needs is the drama that comes along with a handsome face, drama that could jeopardize everything she's working for - a liberating dance career. But Roman Carter isn't liable for the damage caused by his blessed good genes. As a matter of fact, his alluring appearance and its effect on the opposite sex is the furthest on his list of priorities. The recent murder of his only brother has left him unfocused, indignant, and irrevocably heartbroken. Well, he is focused on one thing...retribution. BlackBiirds is the intertwining story of two characters-who's deepest pains and struggles happen to be caused by the other person. Ironically, surrounding situations, dangerous rivals, and even their own family members cause these two to become tangled in ways they can't escape from. * * * BLACKBiiRDS is the rewritten, reworked 2.0 version of its former draft: Souled Out.
