Jaya was happily married to Viraj Chaudhary since she was 15. They were very good friends and later their parents agreed to strengthen the alliance through their marriage. Though Jaya and Viraj both were kids at the time of marriage and didn't understand what marriages actually mean, they knew that they were enough to for each other.

Viraj came out as Jaya's first love and same was with Viraj. Both were happy until 5 years ago at the age of 21, Viraj was forced to fight a battle with neighbouring region and lost his life mysteriously.
Jaya's all happiness shattered within moments.

Now Jaya was 25, silent and lost yet she turned out to be more vicious for the enemies than Viraj, no one was able to lay eyes on the kingdom since Viraj departure because of Jaya.

Abhiraj heard Jaya playing sitar during a family reunion and got obsessed with her beauty and music skills. After looking more into her background he fell for her other skills and intelligence as well and married her out of stubbornness.

On the first night Jaya made it clear that she'll fulfill all her duty of a wife except giving her heart to him.
