16 year old, Scarlett Grey has everything she has ever wanted. The top spot for cheer leading, the hottest boyfriend, good grades and a perfect family. Or at least that is what she thought.
When her younger brother kills himself and her parents get into a car crash after the funeral killing them as well, things take a wrong turn for Scarlett. Living with her Aunt May and her four children only reminds her of her family's death.
When she joins an unrated game of truth or dare with her best friends and boyfriend things get a little, well, weird. Scarlett is dared to go on a fake date with a boy named Sawyer Woods who she has never met before. He isn't a jock or even popular, but quite the opposite. A wallflower, as some would say.
She goes on the date but realizes, maybe Sawyer isn't that bad. No one is worried about how Scarlett may feel towards Sawyer, not even Sawyer himself. Because how could a smart, handsome, poetry writing boy with a dark secret take the heart of someone like Scarlett?
