In the land of Catur lives almost 16 year old Emily St. Album. A war has recently ended, and the army is returning home. Emily has wanted to join since a little girl due to a certain event that changed her life forever. Now she's finally been given the chance to fulfill her dream.

After being accepted into the army despite her age, Emily meets Will-the mysterious staff member who seems to know more than he should. His suggestive words and playful smiles drive Emily crazy, but there's something about him.

If that wasn't enough, now that's she gotten closer to her dream, the army makes a decision that could tear her about from that dream-forever. As the only two female pawns in the army, Emily and her best friend will have to overcome difficult obstacles if they want their lives and friendship to continue.

In Checkmate, the reader follows Emily and her friends in a world based of the popular board game of chess, all of them fighting desperately for the win.All Rights Reserved
