Despite this novel's genre being fantasy, there are still life lessons, situations and relationships that readers will be able to relate to and love. There is a healthy dose of action, romance and imaginative elements offered which is more than what the normal fantasy novel would usually give. The characters are presented with their own flaws, strengths, skills and problems which will endear them even more to their audiences. So, when a lion shifter crosses his path right before he is likely to be sold again, and actually treats him like he wasn't just a piece of meat to try and use, Palace isn't quite sure how to handle him.
