I ended up becoming a commodity. No longer attached by love to anyone. My blood is clean. I sought to sell myself to the highest bidder. This is my chance. They say if you find love you can be trusted. Your motives made clear by love, but alone you are a threat. A risk, so I had to keep them from seeing me as a danger.
Everyone has at least one person they love. They will do anything to save that one person but they don't want to murder someone. That's where the vampires come into play. They deliver the unsavory packages. They deal in blood. People started calling them that even though they're not anything like Dracula. Since the virus thrives in only certain blood types, donors have been sought after as a way to prolong life. Maybe one day they'll find a cure, but until then I have to survive.
I have to avoid the vampires. Blood was my ticket into their society, but I had to keep my head down. Drawing attention might be my downfall, but when I was assigned to keep one person alive I didn't know it would be under the jealous watch of all the single women.

A tall man has sat in an ally way for hours waiting for the perfect victim to work their way by. When a young stout girl walks by seemingly perfect. He takes his chance and grabs her, but much to his dismay looks can be deceiving. As it turns out this man is actually a vampire and the girl he thought was the perfect victim was actually anemic. Sadly for him he just found out the hard way that anemic blood doesn't taste very good. Shortly after attempting to drink the young girls blood he starts to fret over her health wanting to control her diet and wanting to put her on medicine to get the iron levels in her blood system up.
