Divide of the Damned

During World War II, in the darkest days of conflict, a secret government project in the United States yielded a terrifying chemical gas codenamed "Agragenix." This deadly substance was designed with the sinister intent of crippling the livestock of enemy nations. This plan was shrouded in utmost secrecy until it was revealed in July of 2016. This proved to be a mistake.

The turning point came in 2022, when an act of eco-terrorism struck the United States. A group gained access to Agragenix and unleashed it upon American soil. However, their plan backfired in a horrifying manner. Instead of wiping out livestock, Agragenix birthed grotesque anomalies in the animal kingdom. Two-headed deer roamed the desolate plains, while monstrous, radiation-mutated lizards basked in the eerie glow of the altered sun. Mutated wolves roamed the wilderness, their size and ferocity now unmatched. Birds of prey developed venomous beaks, and domesticated pets exhibited heightened aggression. As panic spread across the nation, scientists and government agencies worked feverishly to contain the mutated animals with little luck. Mass evacuations became a grim necessity, though only for those we could truly afford it. Cities and towns were abandoned as people sought refuge in fortified communities or ventured into the wilderness, always on the move to avoid the ever-present threat of the mutant creatures.
