This is the story of how pathetic aristocrat Ophelia Albertson tries to live a quiet life while burying her scandalous reputation in the ground. But unforeseen circumstances are about to spoil her holiday, forcing Ophelia into not just war, but unwittingly meeting those she wanted to avoid as much as possible. Where there are protagonists, there are problems. And it seems she has problems now. Warning : I don't own to be "I've become an earl's bastard"! The characters are not my own, except for the Albertson family and a few others.(English is not my first language, so please forgive any mistakes).

READ "HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS," "CHRISTMAS IN JULY," AND "UNDERNEATH THE MISTLETOE" BEFORE YOU READ THIS Eleven months. That's how long it's been since Dan and Phil made the decision to give Ellie away to another family rather than adopt her themselves. During those eleven months, everything has fallen apart one after another. Phil is rarely ever home for an extended amount of time, leaving Dan depressed because of it. Along with that, both of them feel heavy regret about giving Ellie away. Not a day goes by where the few memories they made with her race through their minds, not a day goes by where those blonde curls and that bright smile don't haunt their memories, and not a day goes by where they both wish that they could go back in time and make things right. Needless to say, Dan and Phil's marriage is another thing that is in turmoil. Countless verbal fights, disagreements over insignificant things that turned into fights, and even one incident that one nearly struck the other have put quite a strain on their marriage, and every single day, divorce becomes even more imminent. After all, could you even call two people married if they haven't slept in the same bed, hugged, kissed, and even held hands in months? Then, one night, while Phil is yet again not home, Dan decides that he's had enough. Packing up his things and journeying into the London winter cold with the goal of never stopping traveling around until he finds Ellie in order to beg for forgiveness, even though he knows that neither he nor Phil deserve it, and get her back once and for all, the British native only takes a suitcase's worth of stuff and leaves everything else behind, even his wedding ring. However, as Dan is about to find out, sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
