Jake Sully, a parazlyed former Marine, was recruited for the mission due to him being an identical genetic match to his deceased twin Tommy. Jake does not have the same knowledge as the scientist about Pandora, which leads him into trouble and gets him lost in Pandora wilderness for the night. He's attached by Viper Wolves but saved by Neteryi, who previously was going to kill him but didn't due to a seed of ewya landing on her arrow. He follows her and she is convinced to take him to her clan due to the sole fact seeds of ewya land on him showing him to be pure of heart and a strong heart, this sacred message shows Neytiri that Eywa has chosen Jake as some kind of special person.
