Celeste and Wyette live two completely different lives from each other. One lives in the stationary position of power and control, while the other one lives in constant migration and fear. The two live in a reborn united nation tied heavily to technology and the authority in command. Terrorists groups and violent mobs break out all over, and the angry rebel. One misstep, though, can cause hundreds of cities to be wiped off of the map with the push of a button.
When the old President dies, Celeste must take his place in order to continue the union of the republic, and restore the old greatness of the nation. Territories celebrate at the thought of the new leader, but Wyette thinks differently. No matter how pretty of a face Celeste can pull, Wyette is determined to stop the so called "totalitarian government" from claiming innocent lives.
Only a revolution is in order, but which side is truly right?

To reach his objective, Monarc destroys experimental results, aspirates thoughts of the ruling class with his topcortex, kills a famous astronaut and destroys his heart given to replace Telio's. Monarc wants to impose on Dax an artificial heart for Telio. By controlling the cardiac implant of Telio, Monarc will dominate Dax.
