Excerpt:

"I'm sorry for- for stealing you like this for- for a moment," Jenkins stuttered; he reached into his pocket and presented a small vial; "I found this among doctor Kostopoulos's cosmetics!" he announced.
Barbados took the vial from the butler's hand and studied it carefully. It was very simple, transparent with stains from dark oil; small, the size of a thumb, no more.
"Do you often go through your master's guest's personal belongings, Jenkins?" the detective asked.
The butler turned pale; pure whiteness was slowly becoming more and more his natural colour.
"I- I just wanted to help..."
"And you helped indeed!" Barbados laughed and patted the butler on his shoulder; "It could be an essential clue and evidence in this case!"
"Really?" asked the butler, somewhat unsure, but proud of himself.
No. Just a complication, the detective thought.
"Of course!" he said.
A lie, he thought.
"I'm happy I could help, Mr Barbados."
"Naturally. You're a good man, Jenkins. Now leave me for a moment, please. I need to study this new evidence in peace..."

How do you solve a murder when you cannot reveal you are an undercover detective? The development of time travel undermined most traditional religions in the Solar System by proving there is no such thing as fate. But it left a void that had to be filled. Today, many people venerate science and evolution, but some worship time itself. In the rings of Saturn, one of the Solar System's greatest sporting events is approaching, providing the perfect cover for the secretive temporal cults to hold their annual inter-faith retreat. Members from every sect will meet to socialise, discuss their ideas and beliefs, and display their latest inventions, which can manipulate time in ways that should not be possible. Time-travelling police detective Erik Midgard is also attending in disguise, to gather intelligence on the cults for the Chronological Operations Agency. It is a risky and complicated assignment, made harder because the laws of time appear to be suddenly - and inexplicably - changing, which could have dire consequences for Erik himself. The last thing he needs is another murder to solve. Undercover in a small hotel, in a jurisdiction he is not meant to be in, with a killer among the guests who may be the most intelligent and cunning adversary he has ever faced, Erik must solve the case, and the mystery of his own origins, before it is too late. One way or another, Erik's time is almost up. The final volume of the Erik Midgard Case Files.

All of them must face mortal peril because The Underground will stop at nothing to keep their claws in. New Chapters uploaded every week! I have started this book about two years ago. I have always wanted to write a book that I want to read and I love crime stories with a touch of darkness. The characters that I created are not perfect. They all have flaws, just like all of us and I love to play with those flaws. I created them by heart and my love to them is equal. The word I created in this story sets in a distant future, where humans were survivors of a gargantuan apocalyptic disaster. It changes the way of living but in some aspects, but humanity stays the same. The cycle repeats itself and you can always find similarities. I own all the copyrights of these stories and I will take matter seriously to plagiarism. I hope that you enjoy my stories and can be entertained by them. Happy Reading ! Hey there folks, I'm Cody Phillips, welcome to New Orleans. N'awlins is known for many wonderful things, our coffee, music and the ability to throw a damn fine party. We're also known as the city most people believe may be one of the most haunted places in the world. Well, let me tell you this, we have more than our fair share. I know because I can see them. But, listen, don't spread that around. Yeah? It's been a closely guarded family secret my whole life. Not even my best friend knows this about me. See, I use my 'gift' in my work as a homicide detective with NOLA's finest boys in blue. Now, I understand why you might call it cheating, and that's fine. But I always catch the bad guy with the victim telling me everything I need to know and give the family involved closer. So it evens out as far as I can tell. Now just as my life is moving slower than a gator with a full belly, the worst happens. I get the call about a homicide that's hit too close to home. It leaves the girl of my dreams coming home to face tragedy. The moment I see her I find myself reminded of the one secret no one ever knew. Ever since I was eight years old I have felt many different things for Emma O'Neal, and those feelings haven't disappeared with time. Problem is now that she's come home; I find myself fighting not only an unknown assailant out for blood, my partner's misguided beliefs but my own need for the enticing beauty I'm duty sworn to protect. Damn, I just hope I'm able to fight the feelings I have for this woman, and stay focused on the case. Otherwise, I might end up losing something far more precious to me than the honor I've worked so hard for: Emma's life.
