Science fiction. After the crash

This is a very short story. Well, it is a story, where the genre is human feelings and the ability of humans to overcome difficult situations. It deals with a very complex subject of loss of life and how human mind reacts to situations where the person finds himself/herself resisting the evil snares of fate working continuously to consume his/her will. And in this short story, a bridge collapses and a person who was about to rescue a lady, fails to do so. And this guilt parades him into a world of perpetual struggle with his own conscience and the rawness of the physical world that he is part of.
