Every year, a banishment is made to appeal the gods. An everlasting winter from a curse years ago falls upon the small town of Jasaki - infecting the entirety of the country they live in, Japan. But alas, all they can do about the winters, is send someone into the forest every year; Fasting and without warmth, to be sacrificed to the deity of which lives inside of it, if not to the deity itself, then to the winter of the forest.

Lucian finds himself banished by his village into an everlasting forest graced with the harsh winters of Japan- lasting forever.

However, the reason he has been banished is not for stealing, not for treason, not for murder.

But because he was chosen to be a sacrifice, to the deemed myth, a deity, a cryptid, even a god- of the forest, Veruseux.

Will he survive the harsh winters?
Will he survive the "cryptid" that roams?
